I attend school at a major university. I’m an older student, a minority, single with no children and overweight; however, I’m strong-minded, intelligent, vocal, a great heart for people, a bit insecure but overall has a likable personality. Recently, a guy I crushed on implied that he didn’t like me the same way and I respect that. Yet, it has made me wonder if he and other men I’ve dated don’t like me because I’m overweight, a minority, and don’t really look like today’s Hollywood celebrities.

I know it is said that inner beauty transcends, but is this true for someone bigger than a size 10, low maintenance, doesn’t have great clothes, and is trying to work on making themselves a better person (inward and outward)? Currently, I’ve lost some weight and am dealing with my personal issues, but I just don’t think there are men out there who’ll see my progress. Am I doomed or do I need to look like Halle Berry or Jennifer Aniston to get a guy’s attention?

What is the ideal feminine beauty in your mind ? What is it in America ? I’m pretty sure it is the long blonde hair and blue eyes. In the african american community they accentuate curves but it seems in Europe they like long, thin and chic.

I have a very unique and exotic look. I am italian, scottish, german, panamanian, welsh and english..I have full pink lips, long way brown hair, long neck, oval face, long legs, 5′8″, wide-set green eyes, light-olive skin tone, long fingers, and pretty, narrow feet.. I know this may sound conceited but many people refer to me as “gorgeous.” And I just wondered if all cultures have the same idea of beauty or not..
I am doing a research paper on the ideals of physical beauty and I just wanted to know if you had any ideas

While wandering through Target this weekend I happened across their hair care department. They have one row of your usual name brand hair care stuff and one row of what I can only describe as outrageously priced hair care stuff. Now, I’m as obsessed with my hair as the next woman and I spend more on it than I should but I just have a very hard time believing that anyone in their right mind would spend $25 on an 8 ounce bottle of conditioner. At that rate, I’d be spending about $200 a month on conditioner. I can’t believe the powers that be at Target would stock a whole row of this stuff if it doesn’t sell. Would any of you gals spend $25 on a bottle of conditioner? Just curious….
